Boars Hill, Oxford

Our Specialist Works

The Oxford Electrical Company were contracted for the design and installation of this beautifully designed new home tucked away within the Boars Hill Area in Oxford, Oxfordshire.

The design on this project was in keeping with a traditional home in the local area, using contemporary finishes with half height brick work complimented with clean oak timber and soft rendering.

Throughout the property we used modern day lighting techniques such a niche walkway and staircase ankle LED lights, operated by sensors so the client would always have the communal routes lit in the evenings. LED tapes hidden in recesses helped prevent dark spots and create depth.

The property was future proofed with multiple new network points throughout, including to all TV locations. In addition, new Wireless access points were installed to create a meshed WIFI network covering all areas of the property.

Multi room audio was installed throughout making the spacious open plan life style design perfect for entertaining guests.

Outside of the property we installed external lighting to all walkways which included PIR detection, external wall lights and brick lights to provide adequate lighting on the darkest nights.

The electrical installation was extended to the triple detached garage which housed the plant room for all mechanical equipment. This provided a challenge for all control wiring and segregation of wiring and equipment between the two buildings.

The Result

Some of the items installed were:

  • General lighting and Power
  • Sub mains
  • Ruckus Wireless access points
  • Multi room audio
  • Electric gates and intercom.
  • LED lighting design.

We really enjoyed working on this project, and the client has since hired us for additional works at another property.

I really enjoyed this project, especially being in close contact with the client and helping provide them with different samples for the fittings and accessories, so they could see before making those important decisions on finishes.
